Don't Cheat Yourself!


Just a few years ago I was 100 pounds heavier and at the worst with my depression. I took a long hard look in the mirror and for the first time, I acknowledged the reflection that looked back at me. It was more than the extra pounds that I saw in the mirror, it was also the disappointment in my eyes that I could see, from years and years of making excuses and allowing myself to become self-destructive with binge eating, chain smoking and poor sleeping habits. It was also at this time that I decided that enough was enough; I was going to change these toxic ways that caused me to become such a negative person and create the lifestyle that I wanted to live.

And that’s exactly what I did, I got off my ass, stopped making excuses, and started taking action. It was that simple, all I had to do was exercise for one hour a day, giving all of my effort and staying consistent along the way. Keeping positive people around me was key, as well as eliminating negative people from my circle. Progress came little by little, but the more I worked, the happier I was with the results. I knew that the good health that I wanted wouldn’t come over night, so I gave myself the mindset that I’d rather spend the rest of my life trying to work towards the health I desired than spend another day living an unhealthy life. 

With this mindset I was able to lose over 100 pounds and keep it off! I have never been happier with the results that I’ve achieved from hard work and optimism, my hope is that I inspire others to choose a healthy lifestyle as well. I chose to live with no excuses, go after what I wanted and not look back. It wasn't easy to make the change but it was worth fighting for.
